Not always about the numbers

This week was a good reminder that progress isn’t always linear. A few weeks ago, if I were scoring myself across the Big 5, most categories would have landed somewhere between a 4 and a 5.

This week looked a little different. No excuses. Just an honest assessment.
Mindfulness: 2.0
Movement: 2.0 (started the week strong)
Connection: 1.5
Food: 3.0
Sleep: 2.0

It’s a reminder that life has a way of influencing how we live, how we show up, and ultimately how we lead. And some weeks, despite our best intentions, we can find ourselves a little more off track.

What stands out to me isn’t so much the score itself. It’s recognizing that even during the weeks when we find ourselves off track, people are still watching, listening, and looking to us, whether that’s family, friends or colleagues.

It’s a reminder for me to lead from intention, not reaction. Not to let the pace, pressure, or distractions around me influence how I show up for others. We all have off days, off weeks, and times when we find ourselves out of balance. The challenge is making sure those moments don’t define how we show up.

The good news is that awareness creates an opportunity to reset. I plan to use my weekend to do just that.

And a special thank you to those who checked on me this week. You know who you are. #Big5 #Reset #Leadership #SelfAwareness #Mindfulness #Growth #Connection #Resilience
